2022 has certainly been the year we will always remember as the post pandemic event boom. So as we make our way into the end of 2022 and with the 2022/2023 events season already kicking off hard, what trends will we continue to see?

One thing the pandemic has taught the events industry is that anything goes now. Individuals or couples planning events are no longer doing things the “traditional way”. In fact, we are finding micro events, minimalistic details, smaller bridal parties and local destination events are here to stay.

Quality over quantity is definitely a favourite now. By having a smaller event with less guests for example, there is more room in the budget for money to be put towards additional aesthetics, a higher quality of food and drinks, more inclusions in your venue package or even the location of your event. We all know that different venue locations and venue styles can certainly affect the overall price, but we are finding more and more that people are willing to have those micro and intimate events, so they don’t have to settle on other aspects of their event.

Minimalistic details have certainly been a favourite in 2022 and we anticipate this continuing onto 2023. Classic but simple invitations and menus, single rose bridal bouquets, neutral colours with a hint of black or gold and greenery only weddings are here to stay. More and more brides in particular aren't wanting that overfilled guest table setting. Tablescapes are becoming cleaner with a less is more approach and we love this.

Small intimate dinner parties and DIY picnic setups are definitely a trend that won't be ending anytime soon. We have multiple vendors offering pre-packaged table/picnic setups but even just a few small details like crystal glasses and tapered candles really make all the difference but are a great cost-effective way to spruce up your table setting while remaining very classic and chic.

Now that the world is slowly getting back to normal, we are anticipating seeing destination weddings returning. However, again the pandemic has taught us to think outside of the box. Instead of flying overseas, more couples are considering exploring the beautiful state they live in.

A perfect example is the Hughes Park historic property and homestead that can be found here in South Australia. This is the perfect venue to get your Tuscany styled wedding without travelling to Italy! The picturesque grounds of Hughes Park are the perfect location for your fairy-tale wedding or event set against a peaceful, rural backdrop. Just stunning!

Events season is well and truly here so as we make our way through the next few months, we are so excited to see individuals and couples continuing to express their styles, thinking outside of the box, not being afraid to try new things and keeping true to themselves.

All our love,
