Now we know themed weddings are not for everyone, but for those daring couples that love the idea of adding in a holiday theme to their special day, why not do everyone's favourite holiday of the year? Christmas! 🎅🎄
As the Christmas in July events have started, it has given us some great ideas for the perfect Christmas themed wedding.
So, when thinking about colours we absolutely love the idea of going all out with the traditional Christmas colours of red, green and white for your scheme. Think red backdrops, red florals with greenery, and adding accents of gold to give it that real opulent feel.
You can use your favourite ornaments to decorate your tables at your reception venue. This could be anything from ball balls incorporated throughout your table centerpieces or mistletoe featured throughout your floral arrangements. We love gold crockery - so charger plates, cutlery and then breaking it up with white or clear pieces on your table would work within your theme perfectly.
You could even use real pine cones, evergreen branches, cinnamon sticks, and cranberries for your table centerpieces too. How cute!
When it comes to florals for your Christmas themed wedding, it doesn't have to be traditional to get the same look but if you want to continue with the tradition then use florals like poinsettias, amaryllis, holly, and ivy in your bouquet, arrangements and flower crowns (perfect for your flower girl). Even mistletoe as an overhanging floral arrangement above your bridal table would be to die for.
But if that’s way too Christmassy for you, then you could tone it down a bit and create a winter wonderland theme using soft blues, whites, glittering snowflakes and fairy lights.
Ghost or white chivari chairs would be the perfect complement to your winter wonderland theme. You could also incorporate things like soft blue florals, clear or frosted wishing wells, seating charts or name placements and lots of candles.
Don't forget about your wedding cake! This is a super fun thing that you can do so much with. If you are going down the red, white and gold route you could decorate your wedding cake with edible gold dust or candy canes. But if you prefer the winter wonderland theme you could have your cake decorated with white pearls and fake snow.
